Junie (brindle Boston Terrier/Jack Russell mix) 8 mos old

She never stops...can be aggressive at times (she fatally injured my miniature pinscher - been told it's the JRT in her), but can also be the sweetest dog I've known. Extremely smart and very active. Understands several words, and responds to commands. Has shredded everything within reach including carpeting, books and cell phone accessories - cannot leave her unsupervised for even 5 minutes. She has a high-pitched shrilly bark when playing, but can use a "grown up" growl when strangers are near our property.

Don't blame the JRT

I wouldn't blame the JRT either. It's the owner that shapes the way a dog behaves. I have a JRT and she is the sweetest thing in the world, never bitten anyone or even snarled.

Jack Russells get a bad rap because of how movies and television often portray them. They are easy to train so they use them a lot for acting.

Dont blame the JRT

I wouldn't blame the JRT for the injury, as in most cases its the owners lack of training. My pure breed JRT was aggressive toward my girlfriend's rat terrier, as soon as the playing even started to get serious we shut it down. I use the scruff shake to discipline; that way there is not hitting your dog but the reason your disciplining gets across.
