Is there such a thing as too much exercise for a 4 month Boston?

I have a four month old Boston, Henry. He has a lot of energy, and I like to take him to the dog park on the weekend for a good 1-2 hours. Usually he is exhausted afterwards. During the week, I take him on 2-3 15-30 minute walks.

I am scared I am pushing him too much, because of his age and the growing he still needs to do. My vet says there can never be too much exercise.

At the dog park, he loves to run up and down this large set of rocks, almost look like steps and then he jumps in the creek. He seems to love it, I just don't want to overdo it. Any advice?

Boston exercise

Our 7 month old male Boston is very energetic. I wouldn't call them hyper either. Some people think so, but they just have a lot of energy. Very intelligent and their agility is unbelievable. This is our 1st BT and we love him -- he is so adorable and fun. I look forward to every new day. I am 54 and hubby 61 - we are not young - he has changed our life - made us laugh a lot more. They potty train easily and after puppy classes he is so obedient if we are in charge. He could run the house, but it is our job to make sure he doesn't. Our Cooper goes out to run and fetch almost every day for about 20 to 30 minutes at a time - most days 3 x a day. I found that he would run for hours, but they do get heat exhaustion due to their noses. You will never be sorry you got a Boston is what a woman told me and she was right. They just want to love you.

Make sure you have water

In my experience with Boston Terriers, they can easily become overheated at times. As your BT grows, you will need to be careful in the heat while walking or any exercise. I purchased a doggy water bottle for Miloh and it goes everywhere I take him. Also, where their hair is short, you need to watch him for sunburn; And in the winter, you have to keep him warm with sweatshirts, etc. while outside. When we are walking or running or even outside for a period of time, I always keep a good eye on Miloh. I can tell by his expression on his face and the way he looks at me that he's telling me: "find shade for a rest and get me a drink!!!!"
Boston Terriers really think they are human and want to go everywhere that you go so you have to look out for them as if they are a child.
