Maddie

Sadly maddie is no longer with us. :( my NANNA was pulling up in the drive way and maddie was soo excited that someone was at our house she ran in front of her car and died instantly. Hero has been sad for days. So has my daughter. When we got maddie my daughter said we need to marry hero and maddie so I made a dress and vail for maddie and a top hat for hero as he is already wearing a tux. Lol anyway they were married. Maddie will be very missed.

Beautiful dog

Though I suppose you could call her rare, you'd never get a large amount of money for her. My sister's boston and one of her brothers were splashes, and the breeder gave them to my mother and a friend of ours because she couldn't sell them. Despite that, I believe a dog's worth should be judged by the joy they bring to our lives and not how much money you can get for them. If she's anything like my sister's Bella, you should consider her priceless.

Splash Boston

She is adorable. Yes, she is rare and called splash boston as it is the reverse of standard marking in bostons. Your boy, Hero, with standard marking is beautiful as well. I am a proud boston mom so I understand how much energy they can have. They need regular exercise and play time to use their energy. They are very lively and playful not hyper. I should say they are not for everyone and for sure they are not coach potato. Good luck with your pretty bostons :)

Thank you for rescuing sweet Maddie! Some may call her "rare" and that is because most breeders would not keep a Boston that was marked like her in their breeding stock. Therefore her unique color pattern would not be passed onto continued litters. The reason that they would not breed her is that she does not fall into the "Standard" of the American Kennel Club for Boston Terriers.

This is not to say that they would not consider her a perfect and even wonderful pet. Her markings do not make her less lovable and many many Bostonlovers do appreciate a Boston with "different" markings or colors. If you think she looks adorable (and I do!) then she is adorable and she can make a wonderful contribution to your family.

Boston Terriers are more active than some dogs. This might make some one who has not properly researched the breed tend to call them "hyper". It is always best to do a little research before you commit to the adoption of any animal. Bostons, on the average, are very active for about 5 minutes, then they poop out and have to take a rest. Almost any dog of any kind, if properly exercised and raised, will be comfortable with their role in the family and not try to "stir things up".
