info for spinal cord injuries such as pinched nerve slipped disk

Shifter Bud is a 5 month old male Boston Terrier who just yesterday was playing and the next thing we know, not seeing what happened he is imobile. Back legs are limp. Vet says, blown disk need surgery right away.No guarrantee on outcome I have attached X-Rays. They have suggested we put him down. I can tell you we will not put him down! He is precious! Able to eat, drink, prop him self up on front legs, with no pain, I assume, because he does not cry out. Do not have the money for surgery which ranges from 5 to 10 thousand dollars. Asking for feed back please.

there's hope

My BT had a spinal injury last summer- thought we would have to put her to sleep - but with Vet Clinic at Mississippi State University, she is walking again -about 95%. Don't give up hope - as long as she is not suffering. You can get a wheel cart for your dog - contact some of those places on web - some have donated carts you could get. There's always a credit card.

Please call one of the vet teaching hospitals like Colorado State University or Tufts in Boston. Tell them you don't have money for surgery and SOMETIMES they will do it as a teaching mode for students. Worth a try!!!!!!!!! There will be money involved for you however no matter what the outcome. Another suggestion is seeing if they have payment plans. Credit cards for just that reason work too. Good luck!
