BEHAVIOR
by: Linda Galway/TurnerME

This is extremely unusual behavior for a Boston, as they usually "never met a stranger." He may be very timid and it could become fear-biting. I agree, you need to socialize this dog; obedience classes may help because there will be other dogs around and the trainer can see the behavior emerge and help you correct it. Good luck.

Socialization
by: Mary

First let me say that you have a beautiful dog! I bet it is hard for people to stay away from him, you just want to go pet him. Take it in little steps. First get someone just to come over and "be there". Then let him get used to them just being there for a couple of weeks. Then let them try to pet him gently while you are right there. If he growls or barks, tell him "NO" firmly but gently. The more he is introduced to, the better he will become. You can look up "dog socialization" online and get the experts opinion. Just know that it does take some time and a lot of effort on your part.

Good Luck!
