I just got a Boston Terrier puppy. She is three and a half months old and I was wondering when I should get her spayed? I want to do it before she has her first cycle.
I was told you can't and shouldn't do it before 5 months old. I was told to make my appointment before she turns 6 months so she can be fixed at 6 months old.

Your vet is the one that will let you know exactly when he wants to do the surgery, but before she has her first heat is the best way. They say that dogs can have their heat anywhere from 6 months on. Our Bostons had theirs at 8 mos and 9 mos old. It was not a very developed heat, though. In other words, the first heat was not like any of the others.
