Gracie the Jack Russell-Boston Terrier Mix
We originally went to check her out at the Rescue because she looked like a little Boxer... people often think she's a puppy Pit Bull and ask how big she's going to get. She's 4 years old now and pulls the "cute little puppy" card whenever she can.
When people ask what she is (she was supposedly turned in by a breeder which is the only reason we know her mix) we tell them, "Boston Jack" (Boston Terrier & Jack Russell, of course) but my boyfriend calls her the "Adrenaline Special".
Her gorgeous "tigger-like" brindle always draws attention, and her mask only makes her cuter. The four white paws and white tip to her tail make her a little easier to spot at night in the yard! Her funniest feature is her under-bite. She is usually about 15 pounds. The shot next to her adopted 'sister', my MinPin, Candy, is when she was still a puppy. The bottom inset shot is her brother, for reference as to what a litter mate looked like.
She's extremely athletic and completely obsessed about fetching. Balls, random toys, gutted stuffed animals and frisbees never touch the ground. We have to hide the toys if we expect to get any rest. She will continue to drop a ball on your unconscious body while you try to sleep!
Although she is very independent, when she learns a command, it's carved in stone... She will run all day until you force her to lay down and/or take a drink, her Mission Statement is "Fetch" (throw it again, Mom throw it again!). But at night she cuddles like a puppy and you barely know she's the same dog. I think this mix would be good for Agility. Because of the Jack influence, she's definitely a dog that needs a job!
