Four year old Boston Terrier having seizures/fits

I have two Boston terriers, both of which were bought from Wildax in Liverpool, an excellent breeder. However my four year old one, has been having fits, he will shake and tries to walk to us, but his legs come up and down in the air like he is swimming almost, uncontrollably. His eyes pop, we pick him up and stroke him until it stops.

He had one this afternoon, and was panting before he had it, yet although he had water out for him before his fit he was suddenly very thirsty and drank a whole bowl after he had his fit. I have been told before that dehydration can cause this but he also doesn't each much unlike his younger counterpart, but has never really eaten much since he was a puppy.

He is from a good bloodline with many champions in his family, his own pedigree name is Wildax Colarado and he was going to be puppy of the year at crufts only he has an undescending testicle.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and do you have any advice about his appetite?

Thank you

Gemma

Wildax

Hi sorry to hear your bt's struggling, hope the vet is able to provide a solution. We also have a Wildax pup bought 5 weeks ago. She's beautiful but at times struggles for breath and sleeps 80% of the time which doesn't seem normal to me.

Seizures
by: Mary

Any dog at any time can develop problems regardless of his blood line. A purchase from a Champion blood-line does not guarantee a pup with no ailments. It just ensures that the breeder is sure to take good care and precautions during the breeding process...but not all problems can be eliminated. I have never experienced seizures however my friend has a different breed that has them. She sees the vet every so often and gives them some medication to control it. This is definitely a case for the vet to decide. Hopefully there is a simple reason and solution. Most dogs that have seizures can have normal lives as long as they continue their medication. That being said...females with this problem should not be bred.
