eye 'spasms'

recently had a scare with my approximately 7 year old male. had just come from a dunkins run..and shared a piece of my donut..a few minutes later i realized something was amiss..as he was sniffing back and forth i noticed his eyes were going side to side uncontrollably. what i first hoped was some allergic reaction to the donut has reoccured 3 times over the past month..usually lasting up to 20 mins..i ve yet to go to a vet due to financial limitations..but he only seems disoriented..not in pain. i love this dog with all my heart ..your advice would be much appreciated
