i love you

Our dog had a liter of ten pups but one died. Is this normal - the size of the litter? One of them has two blue eyes and two others have one blue eye!!!!! But the parents both have dark eyes! So where does the blue eyes come from? I LOVE MY ELEVEN BOSTON TERRIERS VERY MUCH!!!

11 puppies!
by: Mary

Wow! 11.
Our girl has had 6 puppies twice.
I thought that was pretty good.
Was it a bigger Boston?
Our girl is 16 lbs.
I have heard that bigger dogs have bigger litters (up to 10 puppies for a golden retriever).
Were they delivered naturally? or C-section?
How much did each weigh?
Ours weighed 7 to 9 ounces.
Our other female is ready to deliver any day. We do not know how many she will have yet.
Good luck!

blue eyes
by: Alison

Congrats on having so many! The biggest litter we had was 5 and my Vet said that was a lot for a Boston.

One of the pups from our litter had a blue eye. This is not good in a Boston. Having a blue eye means they carry the gene that may cause deafness in dogs. I own the deaf dog that is posted on this webiste. (Hoshi) Although she does not have a blue eye and is marked great for a Boston somewhere in her family line one was carrying the piebald gene and it was passed to her. Since I have done a lot of research on this matter since we have gotten Hoshi the experts are almost certain that this piebald gene is responsible for deafness and the excessive white in Bostons. When I gave my blue eyed baby to the new owner I made it mandatory that they neutered him.

I also own a little girl (Sora) with a blue eye who can hear fine but had her spayed so I did not pass the gene to other Bostons.

Give all of those babies hugs and kisses!!!
