Drop Seizure or loss of consciousness?

My 7month old boston terrier scared me to death last night. He was laying on the couch, then he lifted his head and looked at me with his head slightly swaying back and forth. Then he lost consciousness and fell to the floor where he continued to lay there for 30 seconds, and lose full bladder control and urinate all over himself. After about 30 seconds he got up like nothing happened. I am worried about him.

My BT Silas had seizures. We did all we could fir him but it was not enough. I would take your puppy to the vet. I hope that your puppy has a long and healthy life.

the seizure
by: Audrey Brickson

Please I hope that you had your pup checked, My little sweet BT Maggie Mae had a couple of seizures. I brought her to the vet. They did lot's of blood work on her.. That was two months ago..
Just the other night she had a grand maul seizure. I haven't got her here anymore. They had no choice but to put her to sleep. They did not want to start her on meds yet as she would have to be on them for life. And she wanted me to keep an eye on them to time them!!
Well as I know now I should have insisted that she give me the meds at a low dose for her. Just to prevent them at all.
I don't know what to tell you besides I am so empty inside without her, she was only 3 yrs old.
I loved her so much and could've helped her had I insisted on the meds. But I am not a vet..
I pray that you and yours are luckier than we were.. I will miss her for the rest of my life, I mean she was like my baby ...
Sorry for venting but just wanted you to know if there was one seizure there will be more and you do not know which one of them will be te bad one. just as we did not...

Vet.
by: Linley

Take your dog to the vet. They will do bloodwork, and then likely put him on phenobarbital. My dog had seizures and then was put on the medicine and they stopped.
If you google boston terrier seizures, there's a whole page about it. It suggests a special diet can help, but my dog seems to be fine on the medicine and I trust my vet.

Seizure?
by: Mary

Wow. I haven't seen that before but my friend's dog has seizures. She give him some medication every day for that. The vet needs to see your pup to evaluate him. That is not normal. I have seen a puppy eat a frog and get lulu but he didn't pass out or urinate.

Good luck!

I would be worried, too. What does your vet say about it?
