Buying a Dog First Aid KitWhen you buy a dog first aid kit, you'll want to consider several things.
Price/Value:There are a staggering number of pre-made dog first aid kits available for your Boston Terrier. They can vary greatly in price, as well as types, quantities, and quality of supplies.
Where You'll Be Using It:
First Aid Guide:Most kits come with a first aid guide. Larger kits tend to have larger, more detailed guides. If the manual that comes with your kit doesn't cover everything you'd like, you may want to purchase an additional first aid guide to pack with the kit.
The Container:Most kits come either in a hard plastic case or a soft-sided nylon case. Regardless of the type of case you finally decide on, make sure it opens completely so that you can easily reach the supplies. The soft-sided cases pack more easily into small spaces, since they are flexible and can change shape a bit. If you decide on a soft-sided case, make sure that the handle is securely sewn to the case.Plastic cases offer more protection to the contents. This may be especially important if you will be packing tubes of ointment or plastic/glass bottles. A plastic case should have a secure latch to keep the case closed when it's not being used. Choose a container that you can spot easily in an emergency. Light colors or bright red are good choices. If you don't find exactly what you want, you can buy a kit and customize it by adding a few items. Or, you can always build one yourself, so you're sure to have exactly what you want on hand.
