Depressed Boston Terrier

I have a Male Boston Terrier named Riley since he was 6 weeks old. He was Born with a cleft on his upper lip and one blind eye but he is the most adorable boy in the world to me !!!!!
My problem is that he always seems sad, depressed and on his own until there is a treat or food then he becomes alert and excited or when you are gone and you come home, then he is excited and happy.
Other than that he is calm, quiet, reserved. He sleeps with me and my husband and loves to cuddle when you are watching TV up next to whoever is on the sofa at the time.
I get hurt thinking he is not happy with us or me, although he is now going on 6 years old. But he has always been this way. I take him to the Vet for all of his checkups and he is always good with weight and physical's.
He has a sister Zoe, A Pembroke Welsh Corgi who is 7 years old and Lola, a 4 year old Bull Terrier.
Is there something I can do or is this his personality? They all get a lot of attention from me.
