Cooper

Cooper is the light of my life, after my Dad passed last november, I rescued Cooper and he has brought such joy and laughter to my house! He is a very serious snuggler, in fact, he will come and whine at me until I go sit on the couch so he can crawl up and snuggle for a while. He always wants to be on or touching me and crawling under the covers is a must, even in the summer time. He'll paw his way under the blanket, but now I just lift it up for him (so spoiled)! He loves to play with his toys, but strangely enough, he doesn't shred them like my beagle used to, until they get old & start falling apart. So, much cheaper than a new toy every week :)
He does have a somewhat sensitive stomach, so I have to feed him small meals more frequently. He HATES the snow and the rain, so getting him to go out in bad weather is a bit of a challenge. He also doesn't like to get out of bed in the morning, especially in the colder weather so we love to sleep in on the weekends! He has been really good about not chewing on "momma's" things. When I first got him, he did like to attack my rugs and pull them around the house, but never really chewed them up or anything.
He loves going for walks, to the dog park, and thinks every dog he sees is his long lost best friend. But, he is very submissive and gentle when meeting new dogs, so he does really well at the dog parks. As he gets older, he has less patience for the very wild, young dogs and will give a quick bark at them to calm them down. Also, if he sees two dogs really playing rough, he will go over and try to break them up, so we call him the "ref" at the park. He has a certain prancing that he does when he is around other dogs, so I sometimes call him a little clidesdale horse, it's so cute, he just seems so proud of himself and happy.
All in all, he is a great, happy, goofy, loving dog, and I am going to try to find another one just like him when the time is right. I have always had beagles, but I have to say that adding a bit of the boston terrier makes these mixes a little easier to control, at least from my experience. I guess that would depend on how much beagle instinct versus boston terrier instinct exists in each puppy. I love both breeds so I probably can't go wrong. I love my Cooper!!! So good with my nieces and nephews - and he likes everyone he meets.
