Eden is four months old and weighs about seven pounds right now, but she's very bony. The vet thinks she's a little small for her age, but she's fine health-wise, so we can't figure out why she's not gaining weight. She's very active and playful too so she definitely gets her exercise. Is this size normal, and what can I do to put a bit of meat on her bones?

7 pounds isn't too small. I have heard of 7-8 pound BT's that are full grown. Bony is not good, though. My female is very active and you can see her ribs when she breathes in. She weighs about 21 pounds though already. She is a year old. She just runs around alot and works off her food because she is a real piggy when it comes to eating!

If the vet isn't concerned, don't worry about it. Just make sure she eats every day. If she skips a day, then ask the vet for some prescription food. They make all kinds for underweight and over weight and even sensitive stomachs.

Make sure she is active too. If she is sick she will be inactive. That's not good either.

Let us know how things go.
