coat color

We rescued Scarlett in December 2009; she was 16 months old. At the time, the shelter marked her as Black and White; however, I now see golden brindle marks on her coat, mainly around her midsection and some on her back. They are becoming a little more pronounced, though not nearly so as our other brindle boy, Darby. I've always wondered whether her coat was black or just very dark brown, and since I don't know any b/w Bostons yet, I can't compare her to a true B/W. Has anyone ever experienced a B/W Boston with brindle streaks?

My Mollee has the same thing. I have her registered with the AKC as a Brindle/white and seal.

B&W BT

A true black and white Boston is just that black and white. There are many Bostons that appear to be black and white and when you get them in the sun you will see streaks through the coat of reddish color. I have one that is like that, one that is a true black and white and 2 brindles. If I compare the black and white to the one that appeared to be black and white there is actually a big difference in the black between both coats. There is nothing wrong with the streaks running through and is acceptable. It just means there was brindle somewhere in the line.

brindle spots
by: Leisa

Both of my BT's, Jack & Emma, have brindle spots. When I paid for Jack's papers, I also paid for his ancestory. His BT grandma was brindle, but both of his parents were B/W.

Also, my mom's co-worker has a BT, Nina, and she's B/W with brindle.
