can you give your opinion?

Hello! I have a young boxer and as I have always loved boston terriers, I am thinking to have a sister for my dog of this breed. But the truth is that I don't know anyone with one. I have been changing information with breeders and I would like to know from people who live with dogs of this breed some information:

is he/she an happy element in the family?

is he/she easy to train?

does he/she tend to be nervous or calm?

does he/she needs to walk a lot, like english bulldogs need and want to breathe fresh air for 20m and want to go home?

do you think it would be happy with another dog? a boxer?

Thank you

Sara

boston and boxer
by: Tommies mom

we have a 5 year old female boxer and got a male boston puppy. he is a year now...they are perfect companions. she does dominate of course, they are both very intelligent playful breeds and they have a similar play style ..love to wrestle...that makes them very compatible. they are both clean tidy dogs, are good with children and both should be kept indoors. our boston has enough energy to keep up with anything the boxer may want to do.

Boxers & Bostons
by: Kathleen

Hi Sara -
I don't have any experience with Boxers, but I'll answer your questions based on our personal experience with Bostons:

* both of our Bostons are excellent additions to the family.

* Shadow & Sophie were both easily housetrained. As for other training (sit, stay, etc.) Shadow was easier to train. Sophie is a bit stubborn!

* Our dogs aren't nervous. They are very active, though, and run, play & chase each other a lot. Then they crash and take a nap. ;-)

* Bostons DO need and want exercise. Bostons do very well in agility training.

* Getting a 2nd Boston was the best thing we did. I think they both thrive by having another canine companion and playmate.

If you decide on a Boston, send us a pic and tell us all about her!

Kathleen
