Bumps on his back

by Gillian Galarza

He keeps getting these random bumps on his back they dont seem to bother him. They get very large maybe a little bigger than a quarter size to the size of a pimple. He's around 5 years old and nothing from his food or surroundings have changed other than a recently visit to a national park. They come and dissappear as they please.

Bumps

Weird but I get bumps on my legs (mostly) that come and go. The doctor said he wasn't worried about them. The fat cells grow and get rather "infected" and then my body just takes care of it. If you can get your fingers around these lumps and they are freely movable, they could be lipomas, which are benign fatty growths...very common in dogs as they age. Sometimes they need to be removed and sometimes, if their growth is slow, they don't need to be removed.

I have a dog who also develops lumps that come and go - they are usually on his head. They do disappear and give him no trouble. I have always left them alone and not gone to vet with them. He is now 10 years old and in great shape.
