Bronto

We brought Bronto home at 8 weeks old. Which was 2 weeks ago. He is extremely playful and very smart. But like I have read about the Beagle in Boglen terriers, very stubborn during our walks. He loves to sniff everything possible, and tries to pick up every stick we walk by. He loves people and other dogs and gets very excited when he sees them. He also gets along very well with my 2 cats, and they have now adjusted and are ok with the idea of him being there as well.He likes to follow me into every room of the house, as he likes to know where I am and whats going on. He has gotten better as we are still trying to house break him, but sometimes it can be difficult to read the signs of when he needs to go. He has already learned to sit,and is getting better at understanding the command and what I am asking him to do.The main thing I have noticed (as with any dog) is consistancy, as long as you are consistant with correcting him and praising when he does good things he is a very fast learner and he is very lovable and lives to please, and only asks for your company in exchange. I look forward to the next stages in his development and cant wait for doggy parks and teaching him some good tricks, as I know he will catch on and learn fast.If you are thinking about getting a dog like this, I strongly encourage it, as I am a first time dog owner (though my husband isnt) and he is just perfect for us.

Great pups, aren't they???
by: Anonymous

I wish I had found this site a few months ago. I picked up a boglen @ 4 months old. He immediatly was good at fetching, & now does'shake' w/ eithe paw I ask for, he does 'sit', 'stay', 'dance,' 'lay down,' & the best of all, 'bang-bang' (which he lays on his side to pretend he was shot!) The similarities between what you have shared & what I have experiences are many. Thanks for posting!

Update!
by: Owner

This is just an update.Bronto is now 4 months and still an amazing puppy. He is so loving and adorable and such a fast learner. He is starting to stretch out now and look more Beagle, he also howls a bit when he is playing or the cats get him excited, but I find it very cute.Still almost house trained, its a little more difficult as we live in an apartment, but he is down to 2-3 accidents a week.He loves long walks through the park and gets very excited around children and other dogs.He is also fully crate trained. Once again, to anyone reading this (doing research like what I was doing before adopting my wonderful dog) go for it, raising a puppy is hard but if you have the time and pick the right breed for you, its so worth it.
