Breeding my girl

I am thinking of breeding my boston. Does it affect her body after she has puppies? Does it shorten the life? I don't know much about it so I'm looking to get as much information as possible at the moment. Also my friend has a black boston and mine is Red and white, what colours would they come out?

To Breed or Not to Breed
by: Mary

Get ready for some very negative comments from people. I am one for "Freedom of Breeding" because I live in America where we can make our own choices. If you want to breed your family pet, that is your choice and there are plenty of people in our area that are wanting Boston Terriers. That being said, please consider the "over population" of the rescue shelters and think hard before you decide to breed or not.

If you decide in favor of it, breeding a B/W with a Red can make 1)all Black & Whites, 2) Some Black and Whites and Some Red & Whites, or 3)Some Black and Whites, some Red & Whites, and some Brindle and Whites. It is really a draw. Our Black and White female was bred to our Red and White male and we got 6 Black and Whites and One Brindle and White. Black is a dominate gene, but I have heard of Red's being produced in this situation.

I have heard that the puppy will live longer if she is spayed, and has less of a chance to get cancer. There are many things to consider before deciding to breed, so do some research and do your own thinking. If you decide to breed, make sure you get some more information about it before you do the actual breeding.
