Minature (tisha) on the left and Full size (buddy) on the right
I have a standard size boston terrier and a minature boston terrier, she has been in heat and they have bred, but I don't yet if it took or not, do you think with her being 1/2 his size that there will be complications if she is pregnant??
I was talking to the vet about breeding my boston and she specifically told me to find a male that was smaller than the female to breed with. If the males are bigger than the females, it will cause a lot of complications during pregnancy and birth because the pups are too big for the female.

If they have "made the tie" she probably will have some babies. It will not necessarily be bad. My female was 16 pounds and the father was 22 pounds. We had no complications and all the puppies were free-whelped. You might want to get ready now, though, and prepare yourself as though she were pregnant.
Here are a couple of websites: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/whelpingmain.htm
Your female will not "show" for a while, so just make sure she eats well and does not have any vaccines. Keep up her exercise too!
If you find out she is pregnant, don't get over anxious. She needs your strength. Help her out as much as you can and ask your vet for help.
Good Luck!

BREEDING by: Bennie
Your female will have a hard time giving birth because of the size of the male. The hard part for the female to give birth to is the big head that a BT has..if she were my dog i would not use a full size male.
