Breeding a Male Boston Terrier

I want to breed my male boston terrier. He is almost 8 months. I would like to know the pros and cons of breeding him. Is it worth it? i was told i have to hold them together while they mate, because i have the "stud". Is this true?

There are many things to consider before offering your male for stud services. Definitely research it before you try it.

Here's a starting place to find info.

If you decide to breed make sure that the female you choose has the testing done before you meet. Your male can catch certain illnesses from the female so insist on a vet visit for both dogs before you breed.

The best place to tie is at the male's home so you will have some important responsibilities. You may not need to hold the two but you definitely need to be there making sure things go ok. I have observed 4 different females and two needed to be held and two did not. I have also seen a male that never attempted the tie, but he was at the female's residence.

Read more about it because there is so much more to learn!
