I used to own and show a bloodhound; she was a champion and came from the top bloodhound kennel in the country (She was from The Rectory Kennels and bred by Jackie Sinkinson.) I always had a great deal of respect for Jackie, as this was her life's mission. She stopped breeding her female bloodhounds around age 5 and had them neutered, no matter how many Best in Shows they had. Seems to me to be the prudent thing to do. You wouldn't want to take a chance with your girl, who is the love of your life, would not have a good outcome. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't chance it.

breeding your 7yr old boston by: Anonymous
She's the love of your life. If I were you I would treat her like a baby for the rest of her life instead of having her have to care for babies. I recently lost my 14 year old Boston. I ended up rescuing a female Boston from a breeding puppy mill. They were breeding her up until she turned 10! How sad is that?! She gets to be the only baby in her world, in my home, for the rest of her life. There are so many Boston terriers needing homes. Instead of breeding yours, you could rescue one.
