Boston/Staff Terrier Mix

by Jaeson F.

Hi, does anyone have experience with a Boston/Staff terrier mix? I've searched online and there doesn't seem to be much information (if any). There is local shelter which has one that I've been looking to adopt, but just want further info from ones that know or experienced the dog mix (ie. adult weight, temperament, train-ability etc.). Thanks in advance for the info!

Do some research on both.

I think the best thing to do would be to look into both breeds. The dog should have traits of both the pros and the cons. It could have most of the Terrier traits, which means it's going to LOVE to dig because of its hunting instinct. Or it may have most of the Boston traits (and lets face it, Bostons are more of a bulldog than a terrier)and be lazy with spurts of energy. But you really wont know what to expect because you don't know how it's parents temperaments were. It's great that you want to adopt :) I've adopted 3 dogs in my run. And they have all had their own sets of quirks. My Jack Russel Terrier dug two foot deep trenches in my back yard chasing after a gopher. My German Shepherd/Lab mix is super sweet and gentle with all children, however since she was previously abused she is very shy and jumpy. And my 1 yr. old Chocolate Lab/Pit bull mix is packed full of energy and eats anything wood if you don't watch her lol So just be wary that because you don't know the dogs background there could be unexplained behavior not linked to either of the breeds. People adopt not thinking about this and they think something is wrong with their new baby. Adoption is a great thing :) But sometimes it's a pretty good hassle when you get them home.
