Bostons Lick ALOT..Keep them busy by: Anonymous
I have a four year old boston, and he licks constantly. Sometimes he licks his paws but mostly licks my hands, arms, legs, face and feet. I have found that I just have to keep him busy and tired...I walk my boston two, or three times a day! Once in the morning before work, once after work, and again in the evening...also if you cant walk him that much give him an alternative to licking himself, such as a few kongs with peanut butter that have hardened in the freezer. He will be more likely to eat peanut butter than his skin..Lastly get used to getting licked, mine never stops.

Licking by: Anonymous
We have 2 BT's 5 mo. and 14 mo. the youngest licks everything! Our hands, the furniture, her bed, the older dog, her food, prior to eating it. The older one licks her feet morning for an hr and in the evening as well as hot spots raw. We've tried everything from vitamins to fish oil on her food, vit E rubbed on her skin to predinsone pills from the vet. Nothing has helped and now the oldest has started to lose her hair in front of and behind her ears as well as on her stomach.

Lord does our Boston ever lick! by: Anonymous
Anytime we pet our Boston... Diesel, he has to be licking something, and I mean really licking... Let it be the couch, the floor, your arm, leg, face, his brother(s), the air... It doesnt matter the tongue is constantly going! Cracks us up :0)
But not sure exactly why they do it.....

Licking by: Missy
I don't know why they lick. My BT Buster licks his paws every time we come in from outside or when it is time to go to bed. I have to tell him not to lick at night because you will wake up with a huge wet spot on the bed.
