Boston with Corneal Ulcer.HELP

Our 9 year old Boston was playing with me when my fingernail hit him in the eye and we took him to the vet and they said he had a Superficial Corneal Ulcer. He has had it a week.Hes on antibiotics.Hes under a vets care. But we just worry so much.Does Bostons corneas heal slower then other breeds? There's no redness,no pus.Hes not in any pain.He went back to the vet today for a recheck and they said that he was 25 percent better. They did a debridement of the eye .Next recheck is in 5 days.We are to continue the drops every 2 hours.John hates the drops. Its a struggle to get them in.My mom puts them in and me and my sis help holding his head and then after the drops he tried to scratch it but we keep him from doing that. The vet said we are on the right path. But should this be taking this long to heal?Plz keep John in your prayers that this all gets resolved and he dont have to have surgery because it would kill us. Hes our baby. They said if it wasnt resolved that the next step is to use a grid keratotomy. This is all so much. Has anyone ever been thro anything like this before? Any advice helps. Plz and thank you!

Eye Injury
by: Mary

So sorry to hear about your baby's eye injury! We will keep you all in our prayers. Don't be too worried! Your puppy needs you to be calm and loving. If you are calm then he will be calm. It will take some time. If your dog is calm and happy he will heal faster. Mark each day off of the calender and make sure to make notes if he is getting better. You will see...the vet will take very good care of him but don't forget to pray every day!!!!!
