Boston terrier with Urinary Tract Infection

by Tammy

We rescued our female boston terrier and recently learned shs has a urinary tract infection. She is on meds and has about 5 more pills left. My question is how long should she be able to hold it before the next time she has to go out? I am worried the meds are not working!

UTI

So sorry to hear about urinary tract infection. I am boston momy and when she was a puppy she developed this issue as well. The vet put her on antibiotics and it helped but what also helped was giving her plain low fat yogurt with probiotics. It helps the natural bacteria in the body to grow and defends the body. Also, I asked the vet and he said it was ok to add some no artificial added sugar cranberry juice to her water. It helps with it as well.

The low immunity and poor care for the precious dogs and over breeding contribute to UTI. Ask the vet if you could give her vitamins or add probiotic pills to your dog's diet. Also in my experience, adding Optima 356, which is a combination of different oils will greatly help to improve boston's health and will promote better immunity and even wonderful coat. Just be careful with the amount it says on it start with one eight of tea spoon and gradually increase to one fourth and then half a tea spoon. The bottle says one tea spoon but it was too much for my dog because it causes diarrhea and weight gain so always go with less than what the bottle says and start gradually not to shock your dog's system.

Hope all works and your dog becomes healthy so soon.
