Boston Terrier with Swollen Lip

by Crimson

About 2 weeks ago my 6 year old "Vedo" started have issues with his lower lip. He has always got it caught making it stick out, which I think is normal but this is different. It was almost like it was chapped, because it was dry. Tonight I notice that it is more swollen than it has been. Its not gigantic and he doesn't seem to be to bothered by it, he still eats and drinks. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I hate to take him to the vets unless I really NEED to, but I don't want it to be dangerous for him either.

If the eyes and upper lips are swollen as well, then he might have been stung by a bee, which can be fatal to Bostons. Liquid benedryl works the same as the medicine they use to treat it. Try that, and it might work.

You might try benedryl. Boston parents should ALWAYS have liquid Benedryl on hand because ALOT of Bostons are allergic to Bees !!!!!!!!!

It could be that a bug bit him.
They always like to sniff them and mine get bitten by spiders and bees when they do that.
I also saw one of my BTs chase a pincher bug and try to lick it!

YUCK!
