Boston Terrier with sunken area on right head/temple

My 12 year old boston terrier suddenly started only chewing and licking on the right side of his mouth and has a large sunken area on his right head in the temple region. Has he had a stroke? After a week, he is starting to eat and lick normally, but the large sunken area is still there. Anyone ever seen this?

Did your BT have an accident? Hit by a car or a fall? Please take your BT to the vet's for a thorough workup. The "sunken" area is definitely not normal.
