I would look at the food. Maybe try one with fish oil or one with more oils in it to help. Also there are supplements you can buy to add to their food. Plus if you can find it there is all natural coconut paste in a jar made for pets that you can feed them a spoonful a day. This has worked for my puppies. Oh also do not bathe the dog too much. Too much bathing no matter what shampoo can strip the coat of natural oils and cause dry skin. I think once a month for bathing is the recommendation unless they get dirty.

Another idea that is very cost effective is Olive Oil Shampoo. This has helped our male Boston alot he hardly ever has issues with dry skin anymore also, I bathe him in this once a week which may seem often but it keeps his coat healthy and his skin moisturized.

They now sell fish oils at the petstores next to the pet chew vitamins. It help my BT from scratching so much from dry skin.

Dry Skin by: Mary
Our BT had a lot of "dandruff" until we started giving them fish oil every day. You get them the people kind at the grocery store and cut them open and squeeze the "juice" onto their food. Also we feed ours Blue Buffalo Fish and Sweet Potato. They do not flake anymore and their coats are very shiny!
