Boston Terrier Vomiting

I just got a Boston terrier from a rescue shelter in Texas. He is approx. 3-4 yrs. and has a problem with vomiting. He is just finishing treatment for heart worm and when he gets excited from playing or meeting new people he starts chuffing then throws up foamy mucus. Is there anyone out there who knows what might be wrong?

Boston Vomiting
by: Anonymous

I had a Boston Terrier Lilly and I never really noticed any vomiting from her , but she passed away in August of this year and my boyfriend bought another Boston Terrier. She has been puking since he got her and she has started puking clear yellowish stuff just like I've read everyone else posting about. She has been doing it a lot. He took her to the vet and they said it is acid reflex..and gave her medication. I am starting to feed her white rice with chopped up chicken..and giving her medicine that is supposed to stop the vomiting..because she does it a lot..so, I'm glad to know it's a common thing..bc I thought something was really wrong.

thanks to everyone for there comments. this seems to be a really common problem for boston terriers.
i guess i'll just have to monitor and see what happens. in the grand scheme of things it's just a relatively minor annoyance. thanks again

Donna, yes, mine have also thrown up that yellowish foamy stuff. It was just after a quick ride to the hiking trails. I think you're right, because it happened only once or twice.

Vomiting BT
by: Bennie

Our BT is 8 years and has done this off and on, but has not had any of these coughing/vomiting attacks lately. I have noticed that these episodes occur after one of two things Colonel has done. He has a habit of licking his paws and licking on the heat registers. These two things brings on the coughing vomiting; so we make him stop when we catch him doing either of these bad habits. We almost have him broke of licking these two things. I hope your baby gets better.

Both of my Bostons have done this on occasion; it doesn't seem to be chronic with them. I haven't been able to pinpoint any trigger as it appears to be random and somewhat isolated in nature. I'd be interested in hearing what others have to say.

I'm not sure but mine does the same thing. I take him to the dog park and sure enough,he vomits this yellow foamy mucus every time. I think they just get excited and over heated.

Kennel Cough maybe?
by: Anonymous

We rescued out Boston mix a couple of years ago and he had really bad kennel cough and threw up white mucusy stuff quite often when he got coughing. I don't think there is too much you can do about it except let it run it's course (unfortunately). But after a couple of months (it really lasted that long...) he was absolutely fine and he is the sweetest most lovable little thing. We just adore him. I hope yours gets better soon.
