Our boston was throwing up on walks , and after playing. We tried different dry food then raw food. Finally we took him to the vet , he had a barium test. Vet wanted to do surgery , we decided to wait. When my wife and I went vegan we switched the dogs over to natural balance vegetarian. Sometimes we feed them from a vegan dog cook book. My little boston is fine now , no problems whatso ever. Both my bostons have been vegetarian for 7 months, they are more cuddly, less aggresive, have softer smoother coats, and are gernerally happier. For vomiting try a vegan diet, it works!!!!!! Try a vegan diet anyway, feeding your dog rotting animal is gross.

 My Boston Terrier vomited after drinking water until...

I have a 6 month old Boston that I got when he was 8 weeks old. I first started him out on Stella & Chewy's Raw food diet. This caused him to have major diarrhea. He also always vomited after drinking water. I was told advised to hold off by my dog trainer on the raw diet because it might be too rich for him at his age. I then switched his food to Natures Logic (grain free). The diarrhea stopped but the vomiting after drinking water did not. His vomit was usually clear bile type vomit. No matter how much water he drank he would vomit within a matter of minutes. I kept him on this for 2 months thinking that I would give it a shot and see if he would improve. He did not. I was always able to add water to his food and he would not vomit. I also gave him ice cubes and he would not vomit. Winter came and he gobbled up the snow and would only vomit from time to time from that. So i then switched to Blue Buffalo and I was hopeful but he was really about the same as with the Natures Logic and I noticed more shedding. He even threw up from time to time after he ate. I also purchased him the raised food and water bowls which may have helped a little but still vomits after drinking water. I began to worry he had a soft palate and might need surgery.

I went back to the food drawing board thinking that it seemed useless to change again but I decided try California Natural based on a recommendation of a local holistic pet food store (the same store recommended the original Stella & Chewy's and Natures Logic). He has been on the California Natural Puppy Chicken for a week now and has not vomited one time! I could not believe it so I gave him actual water all (usually added to the food only or in ice cube form) and he has not vomited. I have been providing him more and more fresh water for the past 3 days and still no vomiting!

The California Natural Chicken Puppy formula has been a miracle. He seems to be less gassy as well. No vomiting has been great for him and us. On a side note - he never seemed or acted sickly except one night on the Stella & Chewy's where he had such bad diarrhea that I had to stay up with him all night to be let out every half hour to an hour. He has always been in good health and very happy and of course hyper. I am happy I was recommended the California Natural food. Just wanted to share this with those that might be still struggling with these issues. Good luck

Boston Terriers sometimes have a problem with their soft palate. I have 2 BT's and one of them has an elongated soft palate. We had them checked while under anesthesia to be neutered. At the same time, they had their nostrils enlarged. They had a condition called stenotic nares (narrowing of nostrils) and this caused them problems breathing. Befoe this surgery, they made quite a bit of noise when sleeping. The're much quieter now. An elongated soft palate can cause problems when eating. My little one with this problem eats a lot slower than the other one. I also raise his food dish when he is eating and this helps. Hope this info helps.

 Boston Terrier Vomiting

Hi, my Boston Terrier has been vomiting (without heave) for three months. He is now almost 7 months old.
He has already taken the barium x-ray exam many times, blood exams, we changed the food, the amount of food, the frequency, but he continues to throw up every single day...
Sometimes he is playing, and then, all of a sudden, he throws up(without heave, usually 3 to 4 hours after eating), then he eats the food again, and resume playing as if nothing had happened. Now the vet asked some pancreas and more in depth blood exams, let's see how it goes.
We have already tried many medicines, including metronidazole, amoxiline etc but nothing helps...

 What cured my Boston Terrier from vomiting

My Boston used to throw up constantly. The vet thought it was an obstruction in the intestine. So surgery and not the answer. He suggested changing dog food to the "expensive" kind. Problem continued. So another trip to vet and opened again. Still same problem after 2nd surgery. So after 2 surgeries I decide to take for a second opinion. This vet came up with the "pyloric valve" which entailed opening up again only going the other way toward the front of the stomach. She's in his clinic for 3 days, bring her home and first thing, she starts vomiting again. So after extensive searching I accidentally read an article where someone had the same problem. They started giving their Boston amoxicillin (dosage is 10 mg per pound of dogs weight). I did this 2 times a day for 10 days and voilla........no more vomiting. They get a virus deep in stomach cavity and that causes a lot of problems for them. Also don't give them people food. That was when she was 2 years old and she's over 7 now and NO MORE VOMITING. Stick with dry dog food (no corn), they will eat it but try their best to get you to give in. Don't. This should solve your problem. Trust me I know what you've been going through. I cleaned it up for over 3 solid months with 3 unnessary surgeries. Hope this solves your problem.

 my Boston also vomits

Hi my boston also vomits a lot but I am not sure that it is just her food as she does culp it down pretty fast. I believe that she has a nervess stomach as if she is notty and I raise my voice at her she seems to get upset and vomits. Can this be the problem. I can not feed her peanut butter in her pong as that makes her very sich (like a power puk )I also think that she can not handle anything that is to rich, as peanut butter Etc...
Can this be so ?

If your dog gulps its food, then that is probably the biggest problem. Air intake while eating leads to a bloated stomach, which gets even worse when the dogs begins to digest the food. Try feeding the dog small portions during feeding times. A little kibble at a time until the full meal amount is reached. I did this with our second Boston and made it into a training exercise. Her vomiting drastically reduced.

It could be a soft palate problem. Bostons have problems with elongated soft palates.

 My boston thows up his food every time he eats

My puppy Boston terrier thow his food up every time he eats.I am so worried about him.He has done it sence he was 4 1/2 weeks old.I took him to the vet and they told me to bottle feed him.So I have but I have tried alot of different dog food and he throws it up to.Please help me.Thanks

Their food is to high in fiber, need to get it on low residue eukanuba through VET only, give it 2 weeks you will see a change!!
