Boston Terrier Tail Hair Loss

My boston is 2 yrs and he recently lost the hairs on his tail. What could be wrong? We got him from a breeder who clipped his tail too short. The other night he was just laying on the couch and i noticed all of this hair. He didn't seem to be in pain. Has anyone ever heard of this happening???

That is the same as mine, but I notice that she would swirl around on it, I think it itched, so I put anti fungal powder, on it and I will see if that help because her is raped up in her skin and no air is getting to it when its wet.

 Hair loss

I have had two Bostons both full bred!! neither had their tails cut, born with little nubs. They both lost hair on their tails. The only thing I could ever figure was that the hair loss was caused by them sitting on their little nubs and rubbing the hair off!!
