Boston Terrier Showing Aggression Toward Kids

by kim
(illinois)

My 4 mo old Boston Terrier only growls and nips at my 11 yr old daughter. She is fine around everyone else. My daughter is not aggressive towards the dog - what can I do?

Your puppy may consider herself higher up than your daughter in the "pack," which includes your entire family. Some dog obedience classes, where your daughter does the training as well, may be in store. The age of your pup is usually OK for puppy obedience classes. Check your local adult ed offerings for the least expensive options. Your daughter must be seen by the puppy as more important in the pack so that the pup will respect your daughter and the boundaries she sets.
