Results of Shaking... by: Traci
I couldn't be happier for you and your baby BT! I am not a person that frequents the internet for anything other than work, therefore, It is by complete chance that I found this wonderful website, and that I came across, & read your request for help and advise. Now, I believe it was destiny for you and your BT. I am positive I would be lost if anything happened to my sweet Pearl, and devastated if it was due to a situation I could have prevented, so I am absolutely elated you were able to take care of yours in time. Best wishes for a great future! Traci & Pearl (My 4 year old BT).

shaking by: traci
I have a BT named Pearl that is 3 years old. When I got my beautiful little girl she was only 3 months old. Within a few weeks, she began acting lethargic and down in the dumps. This lasted for a few days when finally I noticed that she would shake, and even foamed @ the mouth once. I immediately took her to the vet and upon describing how she had been acting, and symptoms I had observed, I was told right away that there are three major signs an animal, specifically, a dog, will show when they are experiencing some type of pain. The three signs to look for are 1) shaking; 2) foaming from the mouth and 3) making their body go down into a "praying stance", like a tee pee formation with the head down to the ground laying on paws, and paws together, sometimes crossed, but always pointing outward, with butt up in the air. After x-rays, it was found that my Pearl was born without any cartiledge inbetween the vertebra of her neck. The screw tail that is a signature trademark in BTs can also be found in the spine and vertebra of some BTs as well, which of course, causes abnormalities. After diagnosis, I was told that she may stop wanting to jump up onto high things, and off of them too, and if she did seem to want to, not to let her if @ all possible because of her condition and the impact could cause her more pain. My desire in posting this comment to you is to basically offer the possibility that your little BT may be experiencing pain of some kind, thus the shaking refusal to eat her food & disinterest in wanting to jump Up or down onto things. Keep in mind that most will always take a treat to chew since for BTs, that is a primary way they release all that energy and stress. Good luck.
