Boston Terrier Problems

My seven month male is wetting on my couch and rugs, could this be because he is not neutered yet? Also he has chewed four pair of my shoes, the dining room chairs etc.. Help!!!

Thank you very much.

OOOH Man I have the same problem
by: Ashley

Hello,

I have a 7 month old Boston too named Bacardi and he is having the same issues. He goes outside every hour for 10 mins each day. I have had him since he was 5 months old. He has been peepad trained kinda because we donthave a yard yet(new house). He used them at first but now he pees and poops all over.He pooops on his pad but will not pee on them. I dont know what else to do??? Can someone help me as well. I really need to get this under control fast. He can only handle it outside for about 10 mins because we live in saskatchewan and it is winter here. Please give me some ideas. Thank you.

very simmilar problem

I am having the same problems. He will go outside for the most part, we spend a lot of time on the porch and the back door constantly being opened and closed so he has plenty of chances. I just don?t understand why he goes inside when he is outside several times a day.

The worst part is he occasionally goes on the furniture. He has gone on the foot stool, the couch and the bed! He is not marking. This is a full sized ?just drank a six pack of beer and really got to go" sized puddle. I usually rub his nose in it and smack his butt the take him outside. I know, that is the old school way to potty train, but I have had several dogs in my life (including anther Boston about 8-9 years ago) and I have never had this problem before.

He is 10 months old and just had him fixed 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for any advice

Could certainly be that he's marking territory; however, you should also have him checked to make sure he doesn't have a urinary tract infection. Sounds like he might need to be confined when you're not home, either gated in a smaller room, like a bathroom, or a crate if that's not possible. At 7 months, he should be able to hold it most of the day. If he wets in the crate, then take out any bedding for a while. Let us know what's happening with him.
