Boston Terrier ok home alone?

Hi,

We are thinking of adding a boston to our home. Although I am home during the summer, I do work full time during the school year. The dog would be alone for around 7 hours. I will have a neighbor check in on the bt when she is a puppy. I wanted to adopt in May or June since I'll be home for the summer. Will bt's be okay be left alone for 7 hours? I do have another dog, a senior beagle who can keep her company.

home alone...

Go for it! We had the exact same schedule with a puppy born in early May; my parents stopped by around noon-1 p.m. for a quick pee out/poop out and a little attention, and he was fine until I got home around 3. They did this every day until Thanksgiving. By that time, he was housetrained and could hold it all day. We did keep him in a crate, but it was ample enough for him to stretch out in but not so large that he could "go" in a corner and circumvent the training. Have fun!

If I had a day where I had to stay late (after they stopped their every-day visit), they just went out on that day and let him out.
