Boston Terrier Medical Problem

by Sam

Hi,
I have a ten year old Boston who all of a sudden was stumbling around and peeing on himself. After a three day stay in the hospital he came home and was put on prednisone. He was improving slowly for about a week until we were told to lower the dose...we did...he went right back down hill within 2 days. The dose got put back up but he is still falling about and walking in circles and now won't sit or lay down...he just wanders around.

Wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this before and hoping you can tell me how you fixed it (my vet thinks it's a brain tumor but I am not ready to believe this). Let me know - thanks!

Tumor
by: BJ

I can relate to your concerns, I too had a 4 yr old BT, and she started getting sick suddenly. After numerous trips to pet ER and a specialist, I found she had a brain tumor. She died in my arms the next day. I was devastated. I have lost my best friend. It's hard when you can't do anything for your precious loved one. My prays are with you.

I had the same issues

I had the very same issues with one of my 4 year old Bostons. Turned out to be cancer and I held him while we put him out of his pain. He was walking in to walls, could not see, etc. I wish you well.

BT Med Problems
by: Deb

Are there any other symptoms other than the stumbling and peeing? Pred just doesn't seem right when this elevates the cortasol levels. Has the vet done a blood panel or ACTH test to rule out cushings?
