Do all Boston Terriers lick a lot?

our boston licks anything he can. Any exposed skin, his paws and inside of his legs at night, which I'm sure is a calming down mode for him. But he just won't stop doing it even when we tell him to stop.

my bostons lick all the time it drives me nuts and it is so loud. Why do they lick all the time?
