Licking and Biting Suggestions

For licking and biting in a small pup toys are the best remedy. You can't let her bite you at all and when she does you tell her "NO BITE!" very loudly and turn your head away from her. Then give her a toy and say "Toy". She will need about a zillion toys so if you have garage sales in your neighborhood then get those non-beanie-bag stuffed animals and remove any hard eyes, noses, etc... and get ready to clean up a lot of stuffing. I also use braided fleece, wash rags, and those hard plastic baby toys (be sure there are no screws in them). When she tries to bite or lick, gently but firmly take her head and hold it without choking her and tell her "No Bite" or "NO LICK". Then ignore her for about a half minute. BE SURE TO PRAISE HER when she lets you pet her without biting and licking! Say "GOOD GIRL (OR BOY!) and give her a good back scratch.
