When my boston terrier is eating, she inhales her food and does not chew it, causing her to lose her breath. What can I do to prevent this from happening?
This may upset some, but me and my BT take the time (5 min) in the morning to relax and share some time over breakfast. I hand-feed Penny her kibble and this has become "our special time" and I know I'll look back to this time as special bonding moment that IS special. It doesn't take long and I've used it to slow my life down. Try it and see. We look forward to this time together. So. Stop and smell the kibble. It's why you got a dog. Happy tails.....

I tried two things because mine does the same thing. If you put something in the middle of the bowl like a kong or cup they have to eat around it. I found using a small bowl causes him to push the food out and it slows him down.
