My Abigail, on several occassions, starts to hack, almost like there is something stuck in her throat? I asked around, other Boston Terrier owners, and most say that's normal??? Any advice?
I've had my boston for a whole day and it is my first puppy since i've been out of my parents house. He is exceptionally healthy however he was "hacking" every once and a while and being a new dog owner i was very nervous. After i read some of the comments posted by some others of you who have bostons my mind was set to ease, thank you so much...

Thanks, I'm the "Hacking" guy by: Manny
Thanks for your input on my concern...
She (my boston) usually wakes up "hacking?"
I do rub her throat and usually take her outside, this seems to help a bit?
Thanks again..

Hacking by: Laurel
Hi
It is very normal with any short nosed breed of dog, it is called a reverse sneeze. I find that my Bugg does this more frequently when she is excited and worked up so I make her calm down or send her away from the excitement until she has calmed down and quits hacking as you call it. Another thing you can do is rub their throats or noses and this seems to help as well.
Hope this is helpful
