Boston Terrier Frequent Urination

I have a 6mth old Boston who was neutered about a month ago. He urinates more than any dog I have ever owned and can't control himself when he gets excited. He seems to be fine at home with the family but if someone new comes or pets him especially on a walk or at the pet store he pee's uncontrollably. Will this be something he will grow out of or is this just the way he is?

5 month old Boston Terrier puppy urineating in house
by: Anonymous

Hi,I'am having a hard time getting my bt puppy house trained.I take him out side every 3 hrs. during the day and we walk for at least 20 min. a day.I have had the vet check him out, they tryed to get a urine sample but didn't,they really didn't want to cath him bladder so small. He is on a mild dose of medication to see if that would clear the problem. He to would urineate when he gets excited or someone comes to our house.I'am getting very worried I've put 5 months of hard work into training this puppy who I love dearly, need help?

same problem

I have 2 french bulldog/boston terrier pups. They are six months of age, also brother and sister. They both had the "excited urinating problem" at first. The girl has since grown out of it and is almost completely housebroken. The boy is more difficult to housebreak. I have to take him out about every 30 min or he will go inside! I swear that his bladder is 3xs the size of hers!! It seems that way anyway.

Bladder Control
by: Mary

6 months is a little young to have complete bladder control. Some dogs are worse than others but it is pretty common for them to get so excited that they pee. Dachshunds are the poorest at this type of control. Our Boston Terrier male had a few problems when he was young but he has outgrown them. He will still "mark" when a female is in heat but he is not neutered.

Our BT use to do this all the time when he was younger, but no longer has these problems.

We had a yellow lab who did this when nervous or excited; in fact, the vet used to go outdoors to give him his shots because he would pee! He did, eventually, outgrow this. Hope your Boston does, too.
