My 9 month old Boston, Sammy, has similar feeding habits. I always put the food bowl down in the same spot in the kitchen, but if we are in another room, like watching TV in the family room, he will pick up bits of food and bring them in the family room to munch and eat, then go back for more pieces till the bowl is done. We assume he doesn't like to eat alone! He wants company!Funny thing is two other dogs that we owned previously did the same thing. One was a terrier mixed breed, and the other was also a Boston. Both Princess and Suzie lived to be 14 years old and were perfect companions in every way. Moral is, never eat alone!!

food habits by: Tami
We have 2 BT's, both 10 mos. old females. They both feed at the same times and from an off the floor double feeder. Our larger one will wait for the smaller one to come eat before eating and when she does come over she will pick at her food and take it away to chew. She will do this about 2-3 times while the larger one stands there waiting for her. After her "pacing" she will finally come back to the bowl with her sister and they will finish their meal together. Very strange but they both do end up eating! These are our 1st BT's so we're learning they have a few quirks within them but I guess we all do, right! Good Luck!
