Boston Terrier Chewing

I have a 1 yr old Boston who continually chews on molding or our personal belongings despite the multiple chew toys and daily walks and play time. I am considering crating him while we are at work. Is this reasonable or are there alternative options?

fix that chewing

I have a BT about a year old. I found some chew toys and hoofs that he just absolutely loves.
I only set them out for him when I leave the house. As soon as I get home I pick them all up and put them away. For the most part my dogs chewing up my belongings has stopped. Give it a try. It worked for me.

My adopted BT is 15month old and she chews everything. I do crate her while I am gone but when I am home she is free and still destoys a room or personal items in a matter of a few minutes. I have bought her every chew toy recommended and she chews these along with personal items.

Why does hew chew constantly and will she outgrow this? How do I reprimand her?

Use a crate. I always crate train all of my dogs including my 4 Bostons. It keeps them safe as well as you personal belongings that you worked hard to have. The only problem you may have is he is older and not used to it. Take your time introducing the crate. Start off for only a few minutes by giving him his favorite treat in there and letting him come back out. Little by little extend the time he is in there and then close the door. You do not want him to think it is a punishment but rather his own personal space. Good luck!

I do this with my Bugg so I have a house to come back too. I was away for a couple of hours and she destroyed an expensive memory foam pillow and now she goes to her crate when I am out. She doesn't seem to mind and often I will give her a treat when she goes to her crate. When I come home now everything is where it is suppose to be and no foam or other bits left around for me to clean up and curse over so we are both happier.
