Biting gnats
by: Carol

Our Zoey bites at the air too, I thought something was wrong too, until the next day I found a tiny gnat in the water glass I had left on the end table beside of where she had been. Dogs can see and hear things we cannot, so I'm assuming when she bites now it's because of a small gnat or fruitfly.

We keep bananas in the house at all times, so I know we have those also at times. I think there may be something to the "floater" idea too. I have them in my ideas, but I happen to know they are nothing, dogs wouldnt know that, so it makes sense.

Biting the Air
by: Sharri

I have a 4 year old Boston who was biting at the air for a couple months and then it went away. I came to the conclusion that either she saw particles of dust in the sun that I didn't see or she was having "floaters" in her vision. Sometimes humans get them for no real reason. There may be something passing through their system that causes a little "visual debris" to be seen. As long as it is not parasites causing it, I would chalk it up to something temporary.

If it persists, I would go to the doctor for an exam. Good luck.

Biting What?
by: Mary

Our Arrow does that too. Sometimes I do see little knats but other times I think there is something wrong in her backside...if you know what I mean. One day I thought she was going insane! It was so funny looking. I think her you-know-what had an itch. She does drag her bootie on the ground sometimes. Her "sacs" are not inflamed nor full but she drags away. I think she is just obsessive. Definitely ask your vet though. Our vet says everything looks good back there for Arrow.

If you find out anything unusual please let us know!
