Boston Terrier with a large litter
by: Anonymous

My 18 lb Boston terrier gave natural birth two days ago. She has seven alive and one dead at birth. I am so glad to hear of another Boston having a large litter. Now, however she a refuses to leave her puppies, even to eat, I am hand feeding her-- is that normal? I try to put her outside to releived her self, but she gets so upset I have to bring her in before she is done. She and her big family are inside my house in a lg.canvas doggie den with an indoor pen suround.

I'm so Happy! On August 11th, my Boston Terrier (1st litter and being 5 yrs. old), did us proud. She had a litter of 8 puppies! 4 boys & 4 girls, and all are fine.

Boston Babies
by: Anonymous

My Boston had 7 puppies 2 days ago and she is still panting and acting as though she is real hot. She is taking care of her babies fine but not acting herself. She still has a greenish discharge and loose stools. Her last baby that came was still born and I don't think everything came out with it and I have not seen an after birth.

Whelping

Congratulations! 7 puppies is great! Hopefully a placenta came out with each puppy. If not you should call your vet and see what they want you to do. As far as the discharge...that is pretty normal. She may have a discharge for a week or so. She and the puppies need to be seen by a vet pretty soon so see when he wants them to come in. Just watch her discharge the next few days and make sure it doesn't smell bad and make sure she is eating, sleeping, and acting normal. Post some photos when you get a chance!
