Boston Terrier and Cold Weather Limping

I live in Ma. So we get alot of snow, and cold cold weather, and this year my two year old boston terrier occasionally limps when i walk him outside. He's in great health, and the weird thing is its never the same leg. it changes.......is it just that the cold bothers his paws so he limps sometimes? Again the leg always changes, then he walks normally. It doesnt always happen either, its just at random times.

thanks for any imput

Boston in TX

I have two Boston Terriers and I live in TX where it's nice and hot (we never get snow). However, my oldest Boston (3yrs) does the limping thing at random times. I was worried, but when I touch his leg he doesn't react in pain, and the limping leg changes at times. I think he might be just trying to get attention, but I'm not sure now.

Limping in cold
by: Sue

Have two Bostons each a year old..they limp when it really cold 10 degrees or less. The are only out long enough to do their toilet and right in. Is this their feet that are affected or body? We have sweaters, but they pull them off each other:-((
Any suggestions? Boots??

Response to Cold Weather Limping
by: Heidi

Hi: I have a boston-shitzu mix and she just turned one. Funny you say this, I noticed her doing the same thing, but when we got deep snow here in Colorado. She limped every time she went outside and acted like her foot (changed also)was injured! I was worried and then realized that her paws were probably just frozen because she was fine when she came inside. Could be your dog is just reacting to the cold? Just a thought.

Snow/Limping
by: Alison

Is there salt down where he walks? Some dogs the salt will burn the pads of the feet. If it is not salt it could be he just does like the feel of the snow on his feet and could be trying not to touch it which would possibly give you the impression he is limping. My Bostons hate the cold. They will actually shiver and chatter their teeth if they feel as though it is to cold for them.
