would it hurt to give your dog benedryl everyday?

I give my Boston 5mg of Zyrtec on a daily basis, because she has severe allergies. Her Dermatologist suggested I do that simply because I didn't like the effects the Benadryl had on her! I know how bad I feel when I take Benadryl so I guess I empathized!

That is definitely a question to ask the vet...we don't have the need to give our pups Benadryl every day...in fact, we have just given our 4 year old Boston a Benadryl about twice in her short 4-years. We just give it to her when she breaks out in a rash. If your puppy has a rash everyday, perhaps it would be best to see a vet. I am sure there is something else you guys can do so that would be a little better than a Benadryl every day.
