Boston Terreier Has Night Shakes & Won't Sleep

by Becky
(Astoria)

Our Boston, Conner, starts shaking bad at night and will not lay down or try to sleep, just goes round and round the room. He seems to be just fine in the day and plays well and sleeps under the covers like normal for him. We are on our 4th night of no sleep for him or us just shaking what to do?

Similar problem with my BoChi
by: Mary

My rescued BoChi that I have had for 3 years (she's 7 years old), acted like she wanted to sleep in bed with us last night so I let her. She usually sleeps in her designer mission style crate. Needless to say we were up all night with her anxious behavior. Tonight she goes back in the crate where she is obviously more comfortable and secure. The previous owners probably caged her all the time and that is what she is used to. During the day she is fine and has free roam of the house. Good luck!

NIGHT SHAKES
by: SHERIDAN

Have you thought of caging him at night? We have always caged our dogs. He may be missing the "safety" of any smaller pen or area he was kept in before you adopted him. The room probably seems very large to him and maybe scary. The safety of a cage might just calm him down. We finally wean them from the cage and they then enjoy their freedom...but they stay on their bed/pillow till we get up in the morning.
The world may just look like a big/bad place to him so he is just nervous.
Hope this may work for you.

Boston Terrier Can't Sleep
by: Anonymous

I would be calling the vet. Do you have him in bed with you? I know that my puppy is afraid of the dark unless he is touching me in some way. Have you changed food or anything like that? I hope things get better.
